Matt's Story

Matt Masson is the Director of Nutrition and Wellness and co-founder of Dotair Health, where he serves as a dedicated coach, educator, and partner to every patient on their health journey. Known for his hands-on, highly supportive approach, Matt works closely with clients to build sustainable habits, improve nutrition, and create lasting lifestyle change.

Matt was born in Vinita, Oklahoma, and developed an early appreciation for community, discipline, and hard work—values that continue to guide both his personal and professional life. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University before going on to complete dual master’s degrees in Education and Business Administration from Texas Christian University.

Matt spent nearly 15 years at Texas Christian University, where he built a career centered on student success, program development, and mentorship. During his time there, he founded and led the TCU College Advising Corps, a program that partnered with high schools throughout Tarrant County to help students from all backgrounds access higher education and develop pathways into the professional workforce. His work was rooted in access, accountability, and empowerment—principles that continue to define his approach at Dotair Health.

In 2025, prior to launching Dotair Health, Matt further deepened his expertise by completing a certificate in Nutrition and Wellness through Cornell University. He has spent years independently researching nutrition, fitness, and supplementation, combining academic knowledge with real-world application.

Matt’s passion for wellness is deeply personal. After achieving his own transformation—losing 35 pounds while gaining over 10 pounds of lean muscle mass—he developed a sustainable approach to fitness and nutrition that he now shares with others. His experience allows him to connect with patients not just as a coach, but as someone who has successfully navigated the same challenges.

He is an avid weightlifter and enjoys staying active through a variety of outlets, including hiking, beach workouts, and recreational sports. He is also a proud member of Home Runs-n-Harmony, a softball team in the Pegasus Slowpitch Softball Association—an LGBTQ+ league based in Dallas—where he values both competition and community. Outside of fitness, Matt is a dedicated sports fan who follows college football closely and enjoys cheering on the Dallas Stars.

At home, Matt brings his passion for nutrition to life in the kitchen. As the self-appointed head chef of the Masson family, he prepares weekly meals for his husband, Dr. Steven Masson, and their twin sons, focusing on balanced, approachable, and enjoyable healthy eating. From meal prepping to creating family dinners, he believes nutrition should be both effective and sustainable.

Matt and Steven founded Dotair Health with a shared mission: to help people take control of their health in a way that is personal, realistic, and empowering. As a couple building their life and family in Texas, they are especially passionate about supporting other men—particularly gay men—who are looking for guidance, accountability, and a better path forward.

At Dotair Health, Matt works directly with every patient, ensuring that no one feels alone in the process. His goal is simple: to educate, motivate, and equip each person with the tools they need to build a healthier, more confident life.
