Steven's Story

Dr. Steven Masson is the Medical Director and co-founder of Dotair Health, where he brings over a decade of frontline emergency medicine experience into a more personal, proactive model of care. His philosophy is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: the best medicine doesn’t happen in moments of crisis—it happens in the everyday decisions that shape long-term health.

Steven’s story begins in Warren, Michigan, where he was raised in a hardworking, blue-collar family. His father worked on the line for Chrysler, building cars, while his mother built her career with the United States Postal Service. From an early age, he learned the values of discipline, consistency, and showing up every day—principles that continue to shape both his medical practice and his approach to life.

He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan before receiving his medical degree from Wayne State University. Dr. Masson completed his residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, where he trained in high-acuity emergency medicine and developed the clinical instincts that come from treating patients in life-or-death situations.

In 2013, following residency, Dr. Masson moved to Texas—a decision that would shape both his personal and professional future. He began working across several major hospital systems throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, including Medical City and Baylor Scott & White, caring for patients in fast-paced emergency departments and managing a wide spectrum of acute and chronic conditions.

It was also in Texas where he met his husband and future business partner, Matt Masson.

After more than a decade in emergency medicine, Dr. Masson began to reflect on a recurring pattern: many of the conditions he was treating were preventable. Patients were arriving at the most critical point in their health journey—often without the tools, guidance, or support needed to intervene earlier.

That realization led to a shift.

Together, Steven and Matt founded Dotair Health with a shared passion for helping people take control of their health before it reaches a crisis point. As a couple living and building a life in Texas, they are especially committed to supporting and serving gay men who, like them, are seeking accessible, judgment-free, and personalized care.

Today, Dr. Masson combines his clinical expertise with a science-based, highly individualized approach to men’s health, weight management, and metabolic optimization. His work integrates modern medical therapies—including GLP-1 medications and peptide protocols—with sustainable nutrition, movement, and lifestyle strategies. Having achieved his own significant weight loss and health transformation, he brings both professional insight and personal understanding to every patient relationship.

At Dotair Health, care is intentionally kept small and personal. Every patient works directly with Dr. Masson—not a rotating team, and never outsourced providers. This allows for deeper relationships, continuity of care, and a level of trust and accountability that is often missing in traditional healthcare.

Dr. Masson’s mission is to help patients take control of their health early, build confidence in their bodies, and create lasting, meaningful change.

Outside of medicine, Steven’s greatest focus is his family. He and Matt were married in 2019 and are the proud parents of twin sons, Luke and Nate, born in 2022. Their life together is centered around family, health, and creating a future grounded in intention and balance.

An avid runner, Steven is a member of a local running club and regularly incorporates movement into his daily life. Whether training, spending time outdoors, or staying active with his family, he embodies the same principles he encourages in his patients: consistency, discipline, and long-term commitment to wellness.
